Beginner – Foundation courses
About Course
This beginner foundation course equips students with the essential building blocks of conversational Spanish, starting with the mastery of subject pronouns and everyday actions in the simple present indicative tense. Students will quickly learn to navigate daily interactions by expressing preferences, abilities, and assistance using key verbs like preferir, poder, and servir, while also articulating physical and emotional states through estar, sentir, and tener. As the course progresses, learners will build more dynamic sentences by pairing conjugated verbs with infinitive verbs and streamline their speech using direct object pronouns. The curriculum also grounds students in practical daily routines via reflexive verbs with their corresponding pronouns, and empowers them to give directions or advice effectively by mastering both affirmative informal commands (with and without attached pronouns) and negative informal commands. By the end of this course, students will possess a strong, practical grammatical foundation to confidently engage in everyday Spanish conversations.
